Now access the Federal Pipeline Safety Regulations in an entirely new way – with an interactive application that links regulations to thousand of pages of interpretations and guidance material.  WinDOT™ has the complete text of the pipeline code in hypertext format, enabling to the user to jump to related documents with the ease of a mouse click.
Links to interpretations, the Gas Piping Technology Committee Guide, waivers, and Advisory Bulletins are displayed at the beginning of each topic.  Jumps to referenced sections of the regulations are included in the text for easy cross-reference.  Additional links to each amendment for the code section are included to speed research on the Final Rules.
A full text search feature is incorporated in WinDOT™, enabling users to find either words or phrases.  The search is active across all documents in the code part and results are identified by source – regulation, Guide Material, amendment, interpretation, or waiver.  Using WinDOT™ will make your job quicker and easier, and improve the results of your research.

ViaData’s unique HelpNotes allows users to embed their own notes directly in a regulatory topic.  No more hand written margin notes that get lost when a new copy of the regulations is released.  HelpNotes remain even after an update, and you can be print, copy and paste as well.

Interpretations Available

WinDOT™ was the first application to make Department of Transportation written interpretations available in digital format. Over 1000 interpretations are included, linked to the specific code sections. These interpretations start in the late 1970's and are kept current with the Rapid Update Service. These letters explain DOT's position on the code, and are often used as guides to code compliance.
Rapid Update Service
ViaData scans numerous sources of pipeline safety and regulatory material on a daily basis.  Updates are incorporated into the Rapid Update system.  Subscribers are notified by email when new material is available and to update their WinDOT™.  Normally there are several updates per month.
If you do not subscribe to WinDOT™, you can register for our free notification service. Then use the search pages on the ViaData web to search the Federal Register for new material concerning pipeline safety.
